All Eyes On Sunday's Canadian Grand Prix

Formula One drivers are all set to hit the race track this Sunday in the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. 

This year's Formula One holds the record of six different drivers passing through the checkered flag. And according to race experts, the possible win could go to eight different drivers from the top-notch formula one teams. The 70-lap race covers a total distance of 4.631 kilometers of track on th Ile Notre Dame Island. 

The Canadian Grand Prix could be two-time world champion Fernando Alonso of Ferrari team shot at the top spot.

"It's so unpredictable: I think people stand in front of the TV, with some surprises every race," Alonso told The Globe and Mail. "It's good for the audience, it's good for the sport to bring attention to the races."

In the total points count for this year, Alonso has 76 points which is good enough for a driver to lead the title battle for the world championship. Alonso will be competing with Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull team and his fellow Ferrari driver Mark Webber for the defending world championship for this year.

When it comes to best performances to date in Montreal, Michael Schumacher's name pops up. The favorite driver for all these years, there are chances that the former world champion may show some improvement in the Canadian Grand Prix.

"The Canadian Grand Prix is all about the great atmosphere at the track and in the city- the Canadian fans make the whole weekend into a real celebration, and for us drivers, it's great to feel their passion for motorsport," Schumacher told reporters.
