NASCAR suspended driver Kurt Busch for one week after verbally abusing a member of the media.
Busch, the 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup series champion, will not compete in next weekend's race at Pocono Raceway. Busch has been driving the No. 51 Chevrolet for Phoenix Racing this year after parting ways with Penske Racing in Dec.
According to NASCAR, Kurt has violated Section 12-1 (Actions detrimental to stock car racing; violation of probation; verbal abuse to a media member) of the 2012 NASCAR Rule Book.
The Washington Post reported the incident between Busch and Sporting News reporter, Bob Pockrass, after last Sunday's race.
"It refrains me from not beating the (expletive) out of you right now because you ask me stupid questions. But since I'm on probation, I suppose that's improper to say as well," Busch was reported to have said to Pockrass.
Busch has been fined three times in the past seven months.
