There are several well-performing vehicles released in the first quarter of 2016, particularly in the sedan segment. Four cars in particular, are worth comparing, namely the 2016 Honda Accord Sport, 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, 2016 Toyota Camry and 2016 Mazda 6.

The 2016 Honda Accord Sport does not showcase a flashy design, but has 19-inch wheels that give a firm ride. The style could have actually been better inside and out. In terms of performance, the Accord offers very smooth rides with well-responding brakes. It also has a lot of power and can travel one-fourth of a mile in 16 seconds.

The CVT is a drawback, and drivers may hear moans while the transmission tries to look for the proper ratio at times. The 2016 Honda Accord also needs some upgrades in the speed display and auto-locking feature.

CarandDriver reports that the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu features great lines and proportions. It has a 111.4-inch wheelbase and standard 17-inch wheels. The interior was also well-made with a spacious back seat and trunk tunnel. It also has an aluminum hood, a solid body, optional sunroof and turbo plumbing. It is actually the lightest among the four, with a weight of 3,159 lbs.

The 2016 Malibu also offers firm rides and can handle corners well. The six-speed transmission is great. Some of the drawbacks include the obvious cheap materials in the design, the small 13-gallon tank and very wide A-pillars.

The 2016 Toyota Camry SE has a sleek and clean design. The car has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine which allows it to move from 0 to 60mph in eight seconds. The ride, however, was clunky and drivers will notice vibrations everywhere. The six-speed transmission seems to have trouble finding the right ratio. The steering weight is excellent and the chassis is stable especially in rocky situations. The trunk lid opens widely, but the rear seats do not fully flatten.

Finally, the 2016 Mazda 6 iTouring offers superb design at an affordable price. The Mazda 6 looks great with 19-inch wheels and the cabin featured better materials and placed more emphasis on the driver. The car also has a fingertip control knob, rear seats that fully flatten and a large trunk. The vehicle also offers very flat body motion and can handle curves well. It has a 2.5-liter engine and a capable chassis. Some of the drawbacks include a limited telescoping steering wheel and below average insulation and quietness. Overall, it is a great family car.

The Wall Street Journal reveals that as of March 2016, the Toyota Camry was the most saleable among the four cars, followed by the Honda Accord, and Chevrolet Malibu. The Mazda 6 did not make the Top 20 list.

More updates and details on these 2016 sedans are expected soon.
