Indianapolis 500: Dario Franchitti earns a cool $2 million for recent Indy win

Each year race car fans descend upon the city of Indianapolis in an effort to watch their favorite drivers win the coveted Indianapolis 500 prize.  Throughout the event, there is speed, the chatter from the crowd and there is the roar of car engines.  There is also excitement, anticipation and there adrenaline all over the stadium.  As each driver revs up their engine and drive fiercely around the track, they each know that there can only be one winner when its all over.  

This year the prize goes to the Dario Franchitti. Franchitti is not new to the Indy500 since he has won before in past years.  It is safe to sat that he has proved once again that he is much more than Hollywood actress Ashley Judd's husband, according to the Brownsville Herald, Dario Franchitti earned a little over 2 million dollars for his recent win. The four-time series champion from Scotland became just the 10th driver to win the IndyCar signature event at least three times.  

This was one for the record books since is he among an elite group to win such an honor.  Franchitti is at the top of the game in career and could easily win another Indy 500 prize in his career.
