The controversial Formula One race in the Kingdom of Bahrain finally gets a sigh of relief. In the midst of protests and fight in the last several weeks, finally the Grand Prix opened its gates for teams to ride their vehicles on the race track.

For the past few weeks, the Bahrain Grand Prix was in the eye of the storm for political rift. Teams from around the world were left with no choice but to back-off from participating in the event. But finally teams tested their vehicles for technology snags at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton, Vettel, Narain Karthikeyan, and Nico Roseberg drove their vehicles without a single hitch, and security was intensified around the race track in order to avoid any violent incidents.

Nico Roseberg, who won the Chinese Grand Prix earlier, charted the fastest in the second day practice session at Sakhir in the Bahrain Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton of McLaren showed his aggressive driving on the track which might pose a potential threat to Roseberg on the day of the race scheduled on Sunday. Mark Webber proved his improving performance at the track by positioning himself at the second spot after Roseberg, reaching the finish line faster than expected.

However, the Force India took out their cars much earlier in the day from the track and sources confirm that it was a move to send their technical officials back to hotels without witnessing any violent protests. The decision was taken after four of the officials of the Force India team were involved in a fight with the local protesters, which left the F1 team worried of security and had to reach hotels early.
