Nissan 'Truckumentary' to Tell Story of Titan Evolution (VIDEO)

In order to celebrate the launch of its next-generation Titan, Nissan is telling the story of its new full-size pickup's development through a series of short videos called the "Nissan Titan Truckumentary."

A teaser for the series was released on Wednesday along with an introductory letter from Nissan North America's Director of Product Planning for trucks and SUVs and Chief Product Specialist for the next-generation Titan, Rich Miller.

"The 'Truckumentary' is not meant to be the all-encompassing last word on Titan," said Miller, according to a company release. "Rather it's the continuing story of the vehicle's evolution, accompanied by a close look at the American-based team that is bringing this all-new truck to market."

Miller said that Nissan wants to take people behind the scenes in order to witness some of the milestones of Titan's development, meet the team that works on the vehicle and get a glimpse of Nissan's larger truck heritage in the U.S.

"I've been on Nissan's truck program with many of the people that you'll meet in the coming weeks for nearly 20 years," said Miller in the letter. "Some of us literally grew up together on Nissan's truck team. We even attended engineering school together, and we still hang out outside of work."

The series is set to launch sometime in mid-December, with more than a dozen videos coming throughout 2015, according to the automaker.

Interested customers can expect the next-gen Titan to debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January.

"We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we've enjoyed bringing this new truck to life," Miller said.

Nissan has not said how much the 2016 Titan will cost yet, nor has the automaker confirmed an official launch date.

The truck is expected to take on competitors like the Chevrolet Silverado and RAM 1500.
