‘Fast & Furious 7’ Rumors: Universal Looking to Sign Tokyo Drift Star Lucas Black to 3-Picture Deal

Universal is attempting to get as many stars as they can for "Fast & Furious 7" and the newest confirmed actor is one fans of the franchise should recognize.

Lucas Black, who starred in "Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift," will be returning to the franchise in the seventh installment due next summer.

Universal has reportedly signed Black to a three picture deal, according to Deadline.com. The deal has not been announced offically however,

Black recently played Pee Wee Reese in "42," a bio-pic about Brooklyn Dodgers star Jackie Robinson.

"Fast & Furious 6" was Universal's third highest grossing film this year, behind just "Iron Man 3" and "Despicable Me 2."

The film is being directed by newcomer James Wan, whose most recent film "Insidious: Chapter 2" was a hit at the box office. Filming began earlier this month.

"I really like the theme of this next one that we're going with. I can't really talk about it, but I like the theme; it's one that I really relate to," Wan said according to Indiewire.com.

Other stars set to appear in the film includes: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell, Deepika Padukone, and Djimon Honsou.

More stars could be added as well, as rumors have circulated that Oscar-winner Halle Berry, pop-star Rihanna, and Taylor Lautner could also join the cast.

"Fast & Furious 7" is filming now and will be released July 11, 2014.
