Tesla is besieged by a slew of Tesla killers that are gunning for them. It is different now with the Porsche Taycan or the Mission E on the stage, ready to take on the big honcho “Tesla”. Both the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S are top of their game. Headed for an epic face off of fantastic proportions between these luxury EVs.

Tesla is besieged by a slew of Tesla killers that are gunning for them. It is different now with the Porsche Taycan or the Mission E on the stage, as they are ready to take on the big honcho Tesla. Both the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S are top of the line when it comes to luxury EVs.

After four years of design and development kept under wraps, Porsche is readying its luxury, high performance EV sports sedan hatch, and it's rather expensive. Trim like the Taycan Turbo will cost $153,310, but you can pay at least $187,610 for the Taycan Turbo S. Making this one of the hottest sedan sport hatches for those with money to burn. About 20,000 units are scheduled for the initial production push of 2020.

Do not count Tesla out though. The Model S will be cheaper, and the car company has a following amongst EV fanatics. In the US and Europe, the Model 3 is one of the highest selling EVs commercially. Euro carmakers are hard pressed to get a bead on how to outsell the Model 3. However, with the Model S we can definitly expect a tussle with the Taycan as it is one Tesla killer to watch and see!

A Porsche insider commented that customers of Tesla, are the ones grabbing at the Taycan. He reinstated that Taycan and the Model S are not in the same category, thus not direct rivals in the sports EV market. A market that is soon to get really hot.

From a certain point of view that both cars are different on all levels. Conceptualization to the particulars about them, have peculiar sensibilities reflected in the final product! All hats off to the startup Tesla who did the heavy lifting in getting EVs into the mainstream. These car offer performance strong points depending on how their mother company manufactured them.

Porsche's sports EV is all about the track and translating that into a sports sedan EV. The official remarked that there is no loss of power in the electric drivetrain and boasts fast acceleration. Tesla came from the side of a family sedan with a set of different performance values and distinct approaches that define both cars in the end.

But the rep from the German carmaker stated that the Taycan is ready for any challenge that the Model S throws at them. It is the Gaul versus the Union Jack to prove just how capable their cars are.

In a nutshell, the Taycan has 240 and 280 miles that is less than the Model S. Its ace is faster charging and is expected to be getting 60 miles for a four-minute charge. The power cell is 800-volts which the fastest in the US. The 911 will join the fray as a hybrid or BEV soon.

Soon this epic face off will be in full swing. Porsche Taycan or Tesla Model S which will prevail? Anyone's guess is just as good as the other.
