The redesigned 2015 Hyundai Genesis has been revealed before its expected debut in South Korea followed by a North American debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

The updated vehicle is important because it marks the first major makeover of the Genesis, according to a company press release.

The Genesis, which debuted in 2009, has received a minor midcycle "freshening" with powertrain upgrades, but has never been redesigned before now.

One of the biggest changes is the car's grille, which looks very similar to one found on an Audi.

In addition to the new grille, the 2015 model's headlights are narrower than its predecessors.

The Genesis should get carryover engines as well.

The 2013 Genesis comes with either the base 333-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 engine or the 429-hp 5.0-liter V8 engine.

The 2015 Genesis will go on sale in the U.S. sometime in 2014. Pricing information has not been announced yet. The base 2013 Genesis is sold for $35,095, including an $895 destination charge.

Hyundai has not announced 2014 Genesis pricing either.

The Genesis currently competes with vehicles like the Cadillac CTS, and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
