Corvette Fan Dreams Up Lego Design Kit for 1969 C3

If you like Legos and flashy cars, then you'll probably love this Lego Ideas project to build a 1969 C3 Corvette.

Car fans have fewer than 350 days to show their support for the project and get it to the official Lego review board, which is the next step to getting the kit to mass production, Motor Authority reported.

"Ever since I can remember I've always wanted a '69 Vette.  So I built one," a Lego Ideas user who goes by "brickdater" wrote in the project description.

"The Corvette was truly the first American sports car.  The 1969 C3, with its coke bottle curves and standout performance, was an icon of its era and is highly sought after today," the description reads. "Its immediately recognizable body shape is what drew me to try and create it in Lego form, and I couldn't be happier with the result."

The design kit, which comprises 1,500 pieces, has already garnered more than 3,000 of the 10,000 supporters needed to get the Corvette Lego kit to the next level.

Motor Authority called the Lego rendition "a gorgeous example of the car" as depicted with bright blue Lego building blocks.

In the latest update, new images of the Corvette in green and red have been added. The Lego model is based on the 1969 Baldwin Motion Phase III SS-427 Corvette, according to the update
