BMW Dealers to Launch New 'Tech Drive' Program (VIDEO)

It might be time to make a visit to your local BMW dealer.

BMW's dealers are preparing to launch a brand new "tech drive" program linked to the BMW Innovations marketing campaign that highlights how the automaker's vehicles share key technology features with the 2014 BMW i8.

Those who participate in the dealership "tech drive" program will "experience the cutting-edge innovations in BMW vehicles first-hand," the automaker confirmed on Aug. 27.

The automaker's Innovations national TV advertising campaign debuts on September 1.

"Following in the lead of the BMW i8, which epitomizes innovation, we are elevating the technology across our entire range of BMW models, as highlighted in this national campaign," said Trudy Hardy, BMW of North America vice president of marketing, in a statement this week.

The campaign mentions that the BMW i8's full-color head-up display is also offered in the BMW 3 Series.

BMW's i8's LED headlight technology is shared with the BMW 5 Series.

The BMW i8'S Surround Camera System is also featured in the BMW X3, according to the automaker.
