2015 Ford Mustang Priced at $24,425

Ford has announced pricing for the 2015 Mustang with a 3.7-liter V6 engine, which will start at $24,425. Including an $825 shipping charge, the price reflects an increase of $1,090 compared with last year's model, Edmunds.com reported.

With the standard trim, the Mustang features "a fully independent front and rear suspension, rearview camera, high-intensity discharge headlights, leather-wrapped steering wheel with manual tilt and telescope adjustment, push-button start and the SYNC connectivity system," according to Edmunds.

The Mustang competes in its segment with the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, Hyundai Genesis Coupe and Nissan 370Z. Dealers can now begin ordering the 2015 model, which is expected in showrooms this fall. The Mustang will have options for a blind-spot vehicle system and adaptive cruise control.

Ford will also launch a limited-edition version of the Mustang in the fall, the automaker announced last month. Based on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT fastback, the unique vehicle will be sold in either Wimbledon White or Kona Blue.

According to Ford, just 1,964 of the 50-Year Limited Edition will be manufactured. Available for the Mustang EcoBoost Premium and Mustang GT Premium models, the special 50-year anniversary package includes "a chrome-accented grille, a 50 Years rear badge, alloy wheels with all-season tires, anniversary floor mats and unique seat and door-trim stitching," according to Edmunds.

The car celebrated its 50th "birthday" the week of April 16.

"The Ford Mustang was introduced 50 years ago this week, creating an entirely new class of transportation, the pony car," GM said in a statement on its website at the time. "Chevrolet introduced the Camaro three years later, creating one of the most enduring rivalries in the automotive industry. Chevrolet would like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the Mustang on its 50th anniversary, and we look forward to another 50 years of rivalry."
