2014 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe Earns Five-Star Safety Rating

General Motors has confirmed the 2014 Chevrolet Camaro coupe recently earned a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The new Camaro received five stars every crash test conducted by the NHTSA, including the front, side and rollover crash tests.

The Camaro comes with six airbags, including side curtain airbags.

Convertible Camaro models come standard with four airbags.

Customers who chose to purchase the Rear Vision package for the Camaro will get a rearview camera system.

The rearview camera comes standard on Camaro 2LT and 2SS coupes and all convertibles. It is an optional feature on the 1LT and 1SS coupe, according to the automaker.

The Camaro competes with similar vehicles like the Ford Mustang and the Hyundai Genesis coupe, along with a number of other models.

The 2014 Camaro convertible has yet to be rated by the federal government.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has also not rated the 2014 Camaro, according to the automaker.
