HTC Will Replace Your Broken Smartphone Screen for Free

HTC has announced a special program that will replace a broken smartphone screen for free.

For Advantage customers, busted screens will be replaced in the first six months of owning HTC's flagship One phone, NBC News reported.  The offer is good for one free replacement screen for One, One Mini or One Max buyers.

Only customers in North America who purchase an HTC phone starting today will be eligible, The Verge reported.

The Advantage program "marks an enhanced focus and commitment to customers who select the best and want to keep it that way," HTC said.

In addition to the replacement screen security, Advantage program members will get 25 to 50 gigabytes of free cloud storage on Google Drive as well as two years of "major" updates to the device's Android operating system.

"Our mission is to reward those that buy the very best by treating them as well on day 500 as the day they walk out of the store," HTC said on the Advantage website.

The HTC One smartphone will launch on March 25, a company spokesperson confirmed to CNET.

Called "M8" for now, the One successor could make or break HTC, which debuted its flagship smartphone last year to critical praise but poor sales.

"While the HTC One was well regarded and won critical praise for its all-metal design, it got overshadowed by the marketing blitz of Samsung's Galaxy S4," CNET noted.

Leaked images of the new phone reveal minor tweaks and polishing to the original One's design along with a few software updates.

Events unveiling the new HTC One will be held March 25 in New York City and London, HTC representatives confirmed to media including NBC and CNET.
