2014 International CES: Audi Sport Quattro Laserlight Concept to Debut

The new Audi Sport Quattro Laserlight Concept will debut at the 2014 International CES.

The new vehicle features new laser headlights, according to the automaker.

The concept version of the Audi Sport Quattro was introduced at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto show. The brand new concept comes with a Plasma Red color.

"Audi is demonstrating the future of lighting technology," the automaker said in a statement on Wednesday.

Audi hasn't said when the new headlights will be available on a production model or what it would cost to add them to a vehicle however.

The Lasserlight Concept combines laser-light and matrix LED technology, according to the automaker. Low and high-beam options will likely be demonstrated at the CES event.

Audi claims the laser lights help illuminate the road for about 1,640 feet ahead of the car, or twice the range of normal LED high-beam lights.

Other new features the vehicle will come equipped with includes a hexagonal single-frame grille, and a plug-in hybrid drivetrain made up of a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, according to Audi.
