Xbox Video App Now Available for Windows Phone 8

Microsoft has finally released the Xbox Video app for Windows Phones today, Dec. 18.

Microsoft originally shipped Windows Phone 8 without the app which grants full access to renting and downloading movies and TV shows, according to Microsoft.

The new app is available now in the Windows Phone Store. Click here to download the Xbox Video app.

The release is important for Microsoft users as they now have the chance to stream or purchase content through Xbox Video on a Windows Phone.

Microsoft claims that through the app users can download movies and TV shows to their device even when they're offline.

"Any existing content that's rented or owned in Xbox Video is automatically displayed in the app once you sign in," according to a report by The Verge.

There's no access to HD content on Xbox Video for Windows Phone, however, but users are still able to view HD movies or shows while using Windows 8, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, according to Microsoft.

Xbox Video can be accessed while using your Windows Phone 8, PC, tablet, Xbox One, Xbox 360 devices, or at XboxVideo.com.

Users also have the opportunity to view Ratings and reviews for shows and movies before deciding to download them.

Now Xbox Music, Xbox One, and Xbox Video have all been integrated into Windows 8.1.
