2015 Ford Mustang Convertible Revealed, Set for Fall Release (PHOTO)

Ford has revealed its 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible, which will go on sale shortly after the fastback option this fall.

All of the convertible options will be soft tops and available only in a black paint job, according to the automaker.

"Unfortunately, we didn't have time to shoot official press shots of the convertible before we had to ship the cars around the world," wrote Alan Hall, a Ford spokesman, according to Edmunds. "So we'll have to provide those at a later date."

Hall also confirmed the convertible will be released "shortly after the fastback (fall 2014) in similar fashion to how we've always introduced new versions of Mustang."

No vinyl tops will be sold, as each model will come with a cloth top, according to Hall.

Edmunds has confirmed the convertible will come with an electric motor instead of a hydraulic engine.

"(The setup) is more than twice as fast going down as the outgoing top, so 7 seconds versus 15 currently," said Hall.

Ford's redesigned 2015 Mustang was unveiled on Dec. 5 in six cities on four continents. The automaker is celebrating Mustang's 50th anniversary in 2014, as the first model was introduced back in April of 1964.
