Gold-Plated Lamborghini up for Auction With Starting Bid Set at $7.5 Million (PHOTOS)

A custom Gold model of the Lamborghini Aventador LP-700-4 will be put up for auction with a starting bid price of $7.5 million.

The Lamborghini was crafted by RGE Robert Gulpen Engineering in Germany and was carved out of a 500-kilogram block of solid gold, according to The Inquisitr.

The completed vehicle contains 25 kilograms of gold, which is why the starting bid price was set so high.

The vehicle, up for auction in Dubai, has a V12 engine capable of achieving 700 hp, and it can accelerate from 0-100 in 2.9 seconds flat despite its gold body.

The vehicle on display right now is not the one that will be put up for auction, and is merely a prototype, according to the Examiner.

Approximately $650,000 of the earnings will go to charity according to The Inquisitr.

The vehicle itself has found a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records three times for being the most expensive car ever.

(It) is indeed a very sound investment in precious metals and gemstones (with) enormous potential for this value to increase significantly," said Lamborghini about the gold vehicle, according to The Inquisitr.

There has been a "minimal interest" in the Lamborghini as of press time.
