BMW has revealed its Vision Gran Turismo concept designed for the new "Grand Turismo 6" racing simulator.

The concept photo shows an oversized rear spoiler and redesigned sculpted hood.

The automaker said the vehicle will deliver "blistering lap times."

"Gran Turismo and BMW share a genetic passion for cars, both modern and classic," said Adrian van Hooydonk, senior vice president of BMW Group Design in a press statement. "I've followed this racing game franchise from its beginnings and am extremely excited about the increased visual realism of "Gran Turismo 6" and its incredibly authentic driving experience."

BMW's concept vehicle is a part of a bigger partnership between "Gran Turismo" development studio and major automotive manufactures called "Vision Gran Turismo," according to Edmunds.

Other automotive companies and brands are involved in the partnership, including, but not limited to:

-Alfa Romeo

-Aston Martin

-Audi

-General Motors Design

-Honda

-Infiniti

- Mercedes-Benz

- Nissan

- Volkswagen

Custom designed models from these companies will be recreated as "working" vehicles for the next video game according to Hooydonk.
