2015 Ford Mustang Update: New ‘Stunning’ Model Set to Go On Sale Next Year (VIDEO)

A prototype for the next-generation Mustang was spotted while out for a test drive this week by fan forum website Mustang6g.com.

The company dressed the new vehicle in black camouflage for its joyride outside of Ford's development center in Allen Park, Michigan.

Since the car was spotted the people all-over the world have been discussing the little bit of information revealed regarding the new car.

Jack Telnack, former global design boss at Ford Motor Company, confirmed this week that he's seen a full-sized scale model of the new car, but wouldn't reveal any details in an interview with Edmunds.

Though he retired from the company in 1998, he often makes trips to Ford's headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.

"All I can tell you is that it looks great," Telnack said to Edmunds. "It's all new and it's hot. You will know it is a Mustang. There is no question about that."

The redesigned Mustang goes on sale next year, the same year the company marks the model's 50 th anniversary. Ford confirmed the vehicle is being designed to "cater" to customers in Europe, the first time the company has expressed making its Mustang a global car according to Edmunds.

Convertible and fastback models are expected for the 2015 Mustang.

"I have heard some great words like 'stunning,'" said Designer Stewart Reed to Edmunds. "This is coming from designers that are not even part of the team. They have seen the car from a distance and they are careful to not say what it is, exactly. To have a designer call someone else's design 'stunning' is pretty exciting."

Ford hasn't confirmed yet where the new model will be unveiled but a number of options have been discussed. The company could debut the new car at the Detroit Auto Show next January, or it could wait until the New York Auto Show set to take place in April of 2014.
