Aston Martin Teases New DBX in Video; Claims It Will Be the 'World's Most Powerful Luxury SUV'

Aston Martin has started promoting the newest model of the DBX, with the British marque labeling it as the most powerful luxury SUV in the world. The automaker made the bold claim on Tuesday, January 18, when it released a teaser video on social media platforms Youtube and Twitter.

Aston Martin titled its DBX teaser "A New Seat of Power." It contained just three short sentences with Aston Martin telling the public, "Prepare to be pushed back into your seat. The next chapter of the DBX story will be told, and new performance standards will be set. Are you ready for the world's most powerful luxury SUV?"

Change is coming for Aston Martin with new DBX

Aston Martin claimed in the short 14-second video that change is coming. A roaring V12 engine can be heard in the background of the video, which is the precursor for the DBX's official reveal on February 1.

The current 2022 model of the DBX has a 4.0-liter biturbo V-8 by AMG. This engine can produce 542 horsepower and 516 ft-lbs of twist. That enables the DBX to sprint from 0-60 in just 4.3 seconds, with the SUV reaching a top speed of 181 mph.

Rumors are swirling that the third iteration of the DBX will be fitted with Aston Martin's own 5.2-liter twin-turbo V-12, an engine that currently equips the DB11, DBS, and Speedster. That will provide added boost to the DBX as Aston Martin's engine can record a peak output of 700 horsepower and 555 ft-lbs of torque.

Will Aston Martin's new DBX live up to the hype?

For the DBX to claim the world's most powerful luxury SUV tag, Aston Martin needs to beat out the luxury SUVs of Porsche and Lamborghini. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid can produce 670 horsepower and 663 ft-lbs of twist, while the Lamborghini Urus promises a peak output of 641 horsepower and 627 ft-lbs of torque.

Aston Martin is banking on the DBX to continue its strong performance with the coming model. The SUV has proven to be popular among consumers, accounting for 51 percent of Aston Martin's sales through the third quarter of 2021. That is quite a feat for the DBX, which has been in production for just two years.

Aston Martin's sales to dealers benefited as a result, surging by 82 percent in 2021.

Aston Martin's new four-wheeler is expected to be called DBX S and will be sold later this year as a 2023 model. Aston Martin keeps further details about the new SUV a secret ahead of the grand reveal next month. However, an alleged prototype of the new DBX was seen during testing at Nurburgring last year, with the SUV in question remaining stylish just like its two predecessors.

February 1 cannot come soon enough for fans of Aston Martin and the DBX.
