Blockchain and Monetizing E-Commerce for Automobile Connectivity

Connectivity is everywhere and with the impending arrival of 5G that threaten powerful many apps that will be car-based! One of the Technologies is Blockchain that may be the core of a unified computing environment. Everything about everyday living is connectivity and carmakers want to cash in! Monetization is reaching another evolutionary high point with seamless automobile connectivity that soon to follow.

Another avenue for more revenue and profit are more apps that further encourage more spending. Imagine shopping online and paying for good inside your car. And everything happens in the high-speed connected environment inside a car! The vehicle is essentially cash machine on four wheels that is capable of transaction online via a digital cloud computing.

Embracing an advancing digital future are several car makers that aim to put these platforms into their cars soon! Shortly, most cars will be linked via a digital ID that allows cars to do payment automatically for maintenance and service. Car owners will just sit back while their vehicle does all service repair and maintenance without human intervention.

This project is called Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative that has the support of Renault, BMW, General Motors and Ford Motors to expand E-Commerce further. One interest benefit is that paying for toll fees, and parking is done without pulling a wallet. Essentially the car has become a giant E-Wallet that pays for itself. Especially when self-driving cars are finally perfected, maybe going to a drive and the car just picks up take out!

It isn't complete without knowing what blockchain protection offers consumers. This is kind of security that comes in blocks to keep the car ethernet safe from intentional hacking. Unlike the movies where cars can be hacked remotely, which can't happen easily. It might be that transaction done in a car may offer more protection than using your mobile as an E-wallet! Car autonomy is important to achieve self-driving but offers protection from intentional hacking to hijack any car! All data and transaction will be kept safe because this will be eventually targeted by cybercriminals.

Buying items and purchasing goods without going to the mall to buy anything. It might be delivery or pickup, that may depend on the seller's option. All transaction and activity are on record as an electronic ledger. This system will simplify making auto finance and car-based deals possible. Imagine making withdrawals remotely from the bank and even paying loads via the blockchain?

Develop the ability to electronically negotiate a contract and deal while on the move or parking the car. No need to grab anything when the app allows seamless financial negotiations and other related activities. Other benefits are infotainment, telematics, LoT, telematics, and fleet management that are managed by blockchain apps!

It's no wonder that adopting blockchain is relevant to E-Commerce and a connected auto environment. The car has gone a long way from just driving. Now it offers ways to interact with apps and be part of a blockchain connected environment.
