Two Xbox 360 games are now backwards compatible and these are the Xbox Live Arcade games "Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2" and "Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions." With only a few days into May, Microsoft isn't wasting any precious time of adding more titles to the program.
Lucid Games and Bizarre Creations titles are now playable on Xbox One thanks to the backwards compatibility. These classic games are the first few titles added for May.
"Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2" and "Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions" should be in your "Ready To Download" list if you already own either of the games, digitally. If not, they are available for purchase via Xbox.com.
You can get "Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2" for $10 or £6.75. Meanwhile, you'll need $15 or £12 for the "Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions."
Going back memory lane, Bizarre Creations added "Geometry Wars: Evolved" alongside the "Project Gotham." Since the little shooter game became a massive hit, they produced a sequel, only to shut down the previous game due to its average sales.
But when "Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2" launched in 2008, it received positive reviews, even being called "shockingly good sequel." This game features a variety of modes and an online leaderboard where you can compete against your friends. In fact, the game becomes more and more challenging as you take on each wave.
And in 2014, Lucid Games was born out of employees from Bizarre Creations and gave life to "Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions," the overdue sequel to "Geometry Wars." However, this sequel was only available for Xbox 360 and other consoles, but Xbox One, then.
And now that both "Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2" and "Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions" are backwards compatible, the whole lineup is complete, since the original game was added to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility last year. These classic games join other recently added titles such as "Dead Space 2 and 3," "Civilization Revolution," and the highly demanded "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2."
