Another attempt to make smartphone into a full blown laptop is Mirabook. It is another crowdfunded idea that is expected to be out late this year.
Crowdfunding has been a trend especially to aspiring people who want to get their ideas out into the world. Mirabook is one of the latest crowdfunded idea that is now on sale. Mirabook was first seen in Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017. This is not just another 13-inch notebook. Mirabook creates a laptop view of your smartphone. This means, you get to enjoy the laptop experience through your smartphone. This is especially for people who want to send emails or make reports using an actual keyboard but prefer smartphones and to those who don’t want to switch devices. It basically improves your smartphone experience.
How does it work? As reported by Laptop Mag, all you have to do is connect your smartphone using a cable to the Mirabook. In an instant, you get a much bigger display (1080p). Mirabook also has ports, SD card slot, HDMI, 2 USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port for charging and a headphone jack.
Mirabook is compatible Android, Windows Phone and Ubuntu phones. Once your smartphone is connected, it displays your phone's contents using such technologies as Microsoft's Windows Continuum, Samsung DeX desktop experience and the Remix OS.
The Verge says that there have been attempts to turn smartphones into full-blown computers. One example is last year's Kickstarter sensation, the Superbook that still hasn't shipped. Hopefully, Mirabook won’t disappoint especially that it claimes to have a 24-hour battery life! What makes Mirabook different is that it's designed to work with all the existing myriad phone-to-desktop operating systems including Microsoft Continuum, Remix OS, and Samsung DeX.
Mirabook also works with PC sticks like the Intel Compute Stick, and even the Raspberry Pi. Mirabook is $180 for ultra-early backers, $199 for less-early backers, and will retail for $299 when or if it ships, which is expected to be by end of the year.
