Alfa Romeo 6C Disco Volante Concept Crafted With Style By Italian Artist Alex Imnadze

Alex Imnadze used his special skills once more to create another beauty. Dubbed as the Alfa Romeo 6C Disco Volante, renderings for this sleek-looking 2-door vehicle has recently made it to the surface and has caught people's attention.

Fresh from creating his own version of the successor to the Porsche 918 Spyder, the Italian artist used his massively large imagination to pen out an avant-garde Alfa Romeo supercar concept. But to clear the air, these are not official or real images, although they are an idea held by one individual who has mad skills when it comes to rendering his own version of cars.

Alex Imnadze used the Alfa Romeo 6C, in production from 1927 to 1954, and Touring Superleggera's Disco Volante as inspiration for the avant-garde two-door supercar concept. But the artist's notes that the main design language is a woman's body. Sexy, isn't it?

It's front fascia seemingly is reminiscent of the Toyota FT-1, while its rear reminds you of an insane Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato but is more overt. There are also hot wheels that could have incorporated carbon fiber spokes. To top that off, the concept comes with a small cockpit matched with small side windows and a heavily tapered windshield.

A car this good-looking, it deserves a rightful engine, that is, if it actually comes to life. But just imagine if the 8C's 4.7-liter V8 is dropped into the Alfa Romeo 6C Disco Volante's engine bay. Then, it will be capable of delivering 450 horses and a 0 to 60 mph sprint of 4.2 seconds. In fact, this is the same powertrain that the modern-day Disco Volante has.

Or the Alfa Romeo 6C Disco Volante concept could boast a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 capable of producing 503 bhp. Or the avant-garde supercar concept could sport the engine found in the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV's, 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with 505 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.

There is no official word from Alfa Romeo whether or not a sports car like this will taste the tracks. But it would have been exciting to see 8C Competizione's successor. The Alfa Romeo 6C Disco Volante is eye-catching enough for this, although the design might not totally be in line with the automaker's current design language.
