Hyundai Genesis: Credibility Over Mass Production Is Key

Korean car manufacturer Hyundai is not big on mass producing its Hyundai Genesis line. It is definitely not an issue as it desires to bank on credibility more than anything else. Hyundai Genesis is its high-end market offering and it has to make a name for itself before doubling on its volume.

Manfred Fitzgerald, the Genesis boss, said that building the marque's credibility is of the essence before it can even compete with giants such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Lexus, and BMW at the 2017 New York Auto Show. Admittedly, however, the profit generated by Genesis is essential for the brand's success. At this point, it is not Hyundai's main concern because it would be something distracting and may even be the cause of wrong answers, he continued.

First and foremost, it is important to let luxury car buyers know that Hyundai Genesis can definitely deliver. It is banking on service and experience, something that Hyundai is proud of. The Genesis lineup is also expected to include crossovers. The GV80 concept was first previewed at the 2017 New York Auto Show.

To complete the lineup is a luxury coupe which is reported to replace the recently discontinued Hyundai Genesis Coupe. It was originally marketed as a rear-drive sports car that may be an alternative to Nissan 370Z.

To even prove that Hyundai Genesis is one highly capable car, it has its latest 2018 Genesis G70 which is reported to be faster than the Kia Stinger. Before competing with the German giants, the Genesis battles it out with a car coming from its own birthplace- South Korea. Kia Stinger is reviewed to be impressive of its kind, and Genesis is expected to out-perform it.

With its fastest acceleration, the Stinger can go from zero to 60 mph in 5.1-seconds. The Hyundai Genesis G70 is expected to even do better, so Kia may have to watch out.

Hyundai's decision to not have Hyundai Genesis mass produced is a good one. It needs to build a lot of credibilities before it can go neck-and-neck with the German-made cars. It is even up against competing with its own kind in the form of Kia Stinger to prove a point. The moment it has made a name for itself, profit will surely come.
