Porsche Panamera Turbo vs. Audi RS7: Which Is The Better Super-Saloon?

Two of the best super-saloons ever made, the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Audi RS7 are being compared and that is expected. Being two of the best of its kind, a competition of some sort will definitely happen to determine which is more capable and worthy to be given BEST as its title. In this arena, which super-saloon is considered better?

With the arrival of the latest Porsche Panamera Turbo, the competition becomes even more exciting. The Audi RS7 has enjoyed its place as one of the best for quite some time, so having Porsche's latest entry gives it a little bit more pressure. The RS7 is older but one of the most powerful and still remains true even until recently. It is capable of producing 605-horsepower in Performance spec because of its twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8.

On the other hand, the Panamera Turbo enters in the competition a little weak when compared to the RS7 as it can produce 542-horsepower from its 4.0-liter engine. Also, the RS7 can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 3.7-seconds. The Panamera Turbo's top speed registers at 190 mph while the RS7 can only go 174 mph.

This provides an interesting twist to this competition. Speed and power are two of the essential requirements of the most discerning luxury car buyers. In terms of power, RS7 is leading considering the fact that is relatively older compared to the all-new Porsche Panamera Turbo. However, top speed-wise, obviously it is the Panamera Turbo.

Both super-saloons are definitely for the most distinguished, powerful, influential, and rich. Obviously, the price is not an issue and not even a consideration. However, for the sake of comparison, both the RS7 and Panamera Turbo cost well over $240,000.

It is also important to note that both the Porsche Panamera Turbo and Audi RS7 have been tested on a drag strip. Both super-saloons performed impressively for being capable of standing quarter-mile in less than 12 seconds.

This is where it gets complicated as both the RS7 and Panamera Turbo perform and deliver. At the end of the day, it depends on the choice of the buyer. No choice is considered an inferior one, considering the fact that both are proven to be the best. With this said, it is a draw.
