Finally, the Wagon is back! Earlier this week, Volvo released the latest model in their lineup: the Volvo V90. The Swedish multinational manufacturing company's announcement has been great news to its long-time fans. The V90 is pretty much the same with the S90.
From the platforms, to the technology and right down to the powertrains. However, what sets both car models apart is that the V90 is the first available V90 Cross Country.
The V90 will be a high-riding, all-wheel-drive, but a Cross Country version. It has an upgraded suspension, too.
It also comes equipped with the next-generation Drive Pilot semi-autonomous driving with a city safety feature. In addition to that, the V90 Cross Country also has a system that can help detect huge animals in the way.
Inside, this new model has the Standard CleanZone air filtration and purification climate system. It also has the coolest, panoramic glass roof, perfect for long rides.
It will also have an autonomous driver assist system complete with a touch screen entertainment system. The car's side windows and sunroof will also be laminated. Another cool feature would be the heated front seats and a steering wheel.
According to New York Daily News, there will be three likely trim models. Those trim models included Momentum, Inscription and Excellence.
The V90 Cross Country is not aiming to be a sport-wagon brute. However, it was designed to be an on-the=road version of the S90 series. It is also an extension of the V90-"relaxed confidence."
Under the hood is a turbo-charged 2.0-liter inline-4 engine which can produce up to 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission which directs control of the four wheels.
Hill descent control is standard to the Volvo V90 Cross Country. It comes equipped with four drive modes: Eco, Comfort, Off Road and Dynamic.
