2017 Chrysler Pacifica: A Groundbreaking New Minivan

Last year, Chrysler automaker completely updated its minivan lineup, with every aspect of the people-mover, including its name, all was changed. The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica replaced the current Town and Country. The new Pacifica is the largest forward leap in the history of this segment.

The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica gets a sophisticated road presence, wind-swept profile, dynamic stance, and aggressive wheel to body proportions. The vehicle now has a long wheelbase and a wide track and low ground clearance, making it appear planted with a much capable stance and athletic proportions.

This redesigned minivan shows off an unsurpassed aerodynamics performance, which benefits some features such as the underbody aero panels, and aerodynamically tuned windshield wipers. Its front facial features the contemporary look of the brand, with a sleek, flowing its upper and lower grille.

A robust sculpted hood that comes with distinctive character lines leads the eye to the upper grille and the Chrysler wing that floats within the grille texture. The hood shingles on the upper grill for a clean and aggressive look. It is also available with 17-, 18- or 20-inch wheels, which helps highlight Pacifica's athletic proportions.

On the inside, a beautifully crafted interior combines high-tech elements with a sculpted and muscular feel. The outlets appear more formal, featured by a simple chrome ring that was made to be thinner for an exquisite feel. Stitching on the interior adds to the handcrafted feeling, while a Piano Black accents that have a premium-looking finish provide a touch of luxury.

Under the hood, the formidable 3.6-liter Pentastar has been updated. The newly redesigned V-6 gas engine now produces a best in class 287 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. Upgrades include a two-step variable-valve lift, a cooled exhaust-gas recirculation, and an innovative weight reduction that increases the engine's efficiency and overall performance.

The new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica is offered in six different models and the Pacifica Hybrid in two versions. It's being built at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
