Forget about the fictional monster which shaped the popular culture of Japan, alongside its robots and anime characters. The real Godzilla will premiere next month at the New York Auto Show. The 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition will finally be seen and car enthusiasts will have their chance to see it face-to-face. Nissan is expected to be one of the stars of the upcoming Auto Show because of the GT-R's first public appearance.
According to Motor 1, the new Track Edition will premiere next month and is expected to retail at $109,990 MSRP. There will be additional $18,000 for Nismo front fenders, 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and Nismo-tuned suspension setup. Nissan will also include bespoke red and black theme inside the cabin with Recaro seats.
The latest GT-R Track Edition has eight-inch touchscreen for infotainment which supports navigation and mobile applications as a standard. The driver can also make use of emergency services and track the car if ever it gets stolen. Another standard is a rear-view camera and Bose sound system which takes care of noise cancellation, and titanium exhaust system.
The 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition will be powered by biturbo 3.8-liter V-6 as the Touring model. This is capable of producing 565-horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque mated to a six-speed, dual clutch gearbox.
As added by Road Show by CNET, the 2017 GT-R Track Edition also has adhesive bonding in critical areas to increase chassis rigidity and the addition of Nismo-tuned Bilstein dampers. It also comes equipped with extra carbon fiber trim inside and out. As the site describes it, the Track Edition is "legitimately racy."
The 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition will immediately commence sales late this summer after its debut early this spring in April. However, note that this will not be readily available in dealerships.
