2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro: An Off-Road Performance Monster

Through the years, the Toyota Tacoma TRD brand has been synonymous with off-road performance. The 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro model is an even better upgrade to this tried-and-tested off-road brand. The Pro Performance Package is specifically designed for off-road enthusiasts.

The Toyota TRD Pro package is available for the Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner models. Each is slightly different than the other, and all packs the promised performance upgrade.

The 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro packs a 3.5-liter V6 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, although a 6-speed manual variant is also available for those who wanted to have a more vigorous driving experience. The engine is rated to have 278-horsepower and 265lb-ft of torque. The truck, despite its quite hefty build, is capable of accelerating from zero to 60mph in less than eight seconds, according to Forbes.

Both the manual and automatic variants come standard with a low-range transfer case, as well as the 4WDemand 4x4 system. Both variants also come standard with a tow package capable of towing up to 6,800 pounds of cargo.

While the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is a beast under the hood, it also looks very aggressive on the exterior. The front grille is adorned by the Toyota logo flanked by halogen headlights and LED fog lights on each side. The truck is fitted with a 16-inch TRD black alloy wheelset with Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Kevlar reinforced tires.

Inside the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is a suite of standard equipment. The truck also comes with leather-trimmed heated front seats. The inside of the truck is adorned by several TRD Pro logos including the floor mats, head restraints, and shift knob. The base model costs $41,000, according to Trucks.
