‘Westworld’ Season 2 Air Date & Updates: Man In Black Will Be Back But Not Jimmi Simpson?

"Westworld" Season 2 has long been confirmed by HBO last November. Since this hit sci-fi drama has stayed true to HBO's tradition of killing off significant characters, one cast member might not be heading back to the park and interact with its hosts.

The Man in Black. Ed Harris who plays The Man in Black and the future William appears to be the only confirmed character set to return to the sci-fi drama series. Revealing to BBC Radio 4, he said, "...They're going to do 10 more episodes, and I will be involved." Perhaps the real game has just begun.

The Young William. Jimmi Simpson, who turned out to be The Man in Black and plays the young William, hinted the possibility of his character not returning for "Westworld" Season 2. Talking to GQ Style, He added that his involvement with the second season is still unclear.

"If they have more for William, I would assume it would be a whole new kind of story," added Simpson. He did, in fact, indicate that it was the greatest set he has ever worked with.

According to CinemaBlend, since Willaim (Jimmi Simpson) is the past version of the Man in Black (Ed Harris), it makes sense if his role isn't reprised since "Westworld" Season 1 already revealed the "beginning, middle, and end of sorts to William's story" explaining how he came to become the Man in Black. So, doest the sci-fi drama need a younger version of William? Maybe. Maybe not.

But Jimmi Simpson did tease that "Westworld" Season 2 will "be something that will blow" viewer's minds much to the same degree that Season 1 did. Yet he added, "But I wouldn't be surprised if William showed up Season 3 or something."

Air date. Den Of Geek pointed out that HBO might keep the sci-fi drama as an autumn series, but which autumn? HBO Programming President Casey Bloys revealed to EW  that "Westworld" Season 2 might air in 2018. That said, we might return to the Old West on the first Sunday of October, similar to Season 1.

After becoming a huge hit and garnering a massive following, many are looking forward to "Westworld" Season 2. But for now, let's continue debating the twists and turns of the sci-fi series as we await our trip to the futuristic Old West.
