Sony Xperia XZ Premium News & Update: Pre-Sale Period Already Started, Price Revealed By UK Retailer

Sony introduced its newest premium flagship phone during the recently ended 2017 MWC. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is one of the best smartphones that Sony ever made.

This new smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 64-bit Octa-core processor, and interestingly, Qualcomm has confirmed that the phone will be the first Snapdragon 835-powered handset to be offered out in the market. This means that it will surpass the Samsung Galaxy 8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, which only a few people expected.

According to the latest speculations, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium will go on sale on May 7. It also appears that English retailer Clove Technology has already started it's pre-sale period in the UK. The price indicated by this shop is at 645 pounds or about $780.

Without a doubt, Sony's flagship phone will not come cheap, since this phone has a spectacular hardware. The smartphone boasts a 5.5-inch IPS screen and 4K resolution, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, Snapdragon 835 processor, and a battery of 3,230 mAh.

Other features include a 19-megapixel shooter located at the back, while a 13-megapixel snapper is located on the front side. Its camera is equipped with a Motion Eye feature that allows users to take ultra-slow motion snapshots. It's rated at 960 frames per second image capture. The phone runs on an Android 7.1 Nougat and is also IP68 certified.

On the other hand, the reason why Sony has to delay the release of its flagship phone is that Samsung holds the majority of the Snapdragon 835 supply. But since Sony has now partnered with Qualcomm, it also has the first few millions of chips produced. It's said that Samsung will release the hold on the said processors sometime after April of this year.

For now, it is necessary to remember that for the moment it is all speculations. Availability details of the Sony Xperia XZ Premium have not been confirmed, but as mentioned earlier, it might go on sale on May 7. For the latest updates on this flagship phone, be sure to check out AutoWorldNews.
