Infiniti is set to make a comeback at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The Q50 Eau Rouge has been hushed up for a bit lately. The Q50 Red Sport 400 did not appeal to many people. However, for the auto show, Infiniti is putting together the Project Black S concept using the Q50's successor, the Q60.

The Black-S is all set to take the Q60 lineup forward. Having joined hands with Renault, Infiniti is much more confident of putting the best foot forward. The partnership allowed Infiniti to it's a page or two from the Renault Sport Formula 1 team for this road car. The technology is inspired solely from the racing outfit's hybrid powertrain.

The Q60 Black S looks powerful with its aerodynamic doodads, snarling intakes, and 21-inch wheels. The rear of the car sports a functional diffuser and two exhaust pipes that could double as sewer mains. This version that is going to be launched by Infiniti could create a new performance lineup that will define power and performance, reported Car and Driver.

The design of the coupe is based on Renault Sport's energy-recovery system (ERS.) This system utilizes the electrical energy using a pair of generators. One of the generators is connected to the driveline and another on the engine's electrically-powered turbocharger, reported Car Magazine.

Infiniti suggested that it used the Formula 1 set up and applied it to its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engines. This is the same as used in the Q50 Red Sport 400 sedan. The engine will pull forward the performance to an extra 25 percent. This could result in an increase to 500 horsepower in the Black S.

Infiniti will proudly unveil the new Black S at Geneva. This new car and the concept is expected to give a push to the sales of the automaker's line-up. The strategic tie-up with Renault could further help the car unlock new markets.
