Ferrari Had A Wonderful Run This Pre-Season Testing In Spain

Known for its impeccable speed, Ferrari did not disappoint in their first pre-season testing in Barcelona, Spain. They may be second to Mercedes but they did have an impressive lap time.

Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel managed to have an impressive time that was 0.25 seconds shorter than Mercedes driver Valterri Bottas. With Kimi Raikkonen setting the standard for Vettel's pace, they were able to have a great run this pre-season.

So far, it has been difficult to know the precise final form of cars in this pre-season testing. There were a lot of factors to consider in a car's performance like the fuel load, engine mode, track condition, time of day and car set-up.

Ferrari's impressive performance manage passed by the radars of the other teams, who were impressed by their car's excellent performance. Sebastian Vettel said that the Ferrari team is pushing their selves to the limit. He explained that they've tested the car for three days, taking down notes on the things that they needed to improve.

Vettel is actually convinced that they could have performed better in the pre-season testing. They might not have problems with their car's reliability but he believes that they still have not yet given their best performance. Even though at this point, it is still too early to tell what their final performance for this season might be, Formula 1 reported.

Vettel is not even being cautious but being fairly realistic when stating this because he knows that they could have done better in the pre-season testing. He said that there are still a lot of things to check off their to-do list.

Despite this, Sebastian Vettel is confident that the Ferrari team will give a great performance this season. However, it still does not erase the fact that they are still at the beginning and there are still a lot of work ahead of them.
