The BMW M4 DTM Spied Testing

The development for the new BMW M4 DTM continues. BMW Motorsports tried the M4 DTM with a three-day test in Portimão in the south of Portugal.

This test is for the BMW M4 DTM 2017 season. According to reports, there are still a few changes that need to be made so the car can comply with technical regulations.

The car's aerodynamics are amongst those changes that need to be done. The test was used by BMW Motorsports to evaluate the new racing car and its parts.

The test was also used to gather valuable data from the BMW M4 DTM. All of the three manufacturers represented in the DTM were in attendance at the said event in Portugal.

All three took one car to the track. The manufacturers were treated to fine weather conditions with sun and springtime temperatures.

The BMW Team RMG was with reigning champion Marco Wittmann (GER). Wittman was also with his new teammate Augusto Farfus (BRA).

Both men (Wittmann and Farfus) were in action for BMW Motorsport. Marco Wittmann also gave the press a few moments to ask him questions.

He also discussed what he feels about the test and his future with BMW. He said, "We are very happy with the test. It was very interesting to take to the track with the new BMW M4 DTM for the first time.

As for the valuable data recovered from the test drive, Wittmann said, "Our findings will be very important for the development work ahead." He also talked about how it feels to drive the MBW M4 DTM, "It is always fun to drive a car for the first time in the development phase, and to discover what effect any innovations may have on the track. I think the greater power and new tires will make for more action and exciting races," said Wittmann.

Fans should also be on the lookout for more tests in the future. BMW Motorsport is set to continue its pre-season preparations with another test in Vallelunga (ITA) the fourteenth of March to the sixteenth.

It will be exciting to finally see the BMW M4 DTM burning tires on the track. Keep checking back on Auto World News for more updates.
