Porsche 918 Spyder Didn’t Stand A Chance Against 1900-Horsepowered Nissan Patrol: Meet The Beast That Devoured The Porsche

Do you still remember the Nissan Patrol that devoured the Porsche 918 Spyder during a drag race on the last episode of "The Grand Tour"? Well, the guys at 1320video got the chance to see and explore up close and personal the vehicle that ate the hybrid for breakfast in Dubai.

Of course, it wouldn't be a "regular" Nissan Patrol for it to have beaten the only vehicle that set the fastest lap record on the iconic Nürburgring. Basically, it was a Nissan GT-R dressing up as a Nissan Patrol, in a way. Of course, it was more than heavily modified.

When we noted "extensively modified Nissan GT-R," what we meant was every single component of the GT-R drivetrain was fitted into the Nissan Patrol, including the interior, gauge cluster, steering wheel, and even the center console.

"Everything you can unbolt from a GT-R driveline and-basically-make it fit in here," explained the guys from F Performance Garage. "They sent a GT-R and they got a shell back."

From the suspension, brakes, subframe, rear subframe, and others, you name it, all of it has been transferred to the Nissan Patrol. Plus, it also sports new functional vents. So, under the hood, a full Nissan GT-R VR38 that "has been stroked out to a 4.1-liter engine build by T1 Race Development," reports Jalopnik.

The result is a beastly 1,900 horsepower. With that, you wouldn't think twice as to how the SUV beat the Porsche. The Porsche 918 Spyder never stood a chance to begin with.

Carscoops noted that the Patrol was the ultimate sleeper for quite some time. Now, thanks to its appearance on "The Grand Tour," it has become viral.

The video below provides extensive detail regarding the 1900-horsepower Nissan Patrol that proved too much for the Porsche 918 Spyder to beat. This last episode for the show has become more popular since.
