Jeep has a long history when it comes to vehicle customization and personalization going back to the first CJ Jeeps manufactured after WWII. Today, with the automaker's new 2017 Jeep Compass, buyers will be able to choose from more than 90 Mopar accessories when it hits dealership in the coming weeks.
Pietro Gorlier, head of FCA's parts and service arm, said, "Owners can put their unique stamp on the new Jeep Compass right at launch with a full line of authentic Jeep accessories. Mopar celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2017, and we continue to deliver products that remain true to the DNA of each brand and the personality of each vehicle. With a full line of accessories available at launch, we're ready to do that for 2017 Jeep Compass owners."
The accessories will include molded splash guards, steel rock rails, rooftop cargo baskets, and roof racks for bikes and skis. Special packages are also offered that comes with black graphics for the hood and body style.
Mopar also wants to keep the car's interior nice and clean, so they added badged door sill guards, stainless steel pedals, all-weather floor mats, cargo totes, and molded cargo trays that protect against sand and dirt. Prices on said accessories will vary. A cargo tote may cost $33.20, roof racks costs $225, and rock rails around $925. Adding black graphics can cost between $100 and $180.
The new model is coming to dealerships in the first quarter of 2017. It's equipped with a 2.4-liter Tigershark engine that produces 180 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque.
In addition, several convenience features are also available. It includes a two-panel sunroof, power liftgate, adaptive cruise control, parallel and perpendicular parking assist, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Beats Audio, and an option for a 5.0, 7.0, or 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment screens.
