The man who was charged with slapping a child on a plane heading from Minneapolis to Atlanta last week now appears to be out of a job according to the Associated Press.
The AGC Aerospace and Defense has suspended 60-year-old Joe Rickey Hundley, of Hayden, Idaho, as president of its Unitech Composites and Structures according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Al Haase, president and CEOI of AGC, issued a statement over the weekend that, while not using Hundley's name, calls reports of an executive's behavior on personal travel "offensive and disturbing," and claims the worker "is no longer employed there."
No statement has been released confirming that Hundley quit or was fired according to the Associated Press.
Hundley was charged last week in federal court in Atlanta with simple assault for slapping a 2-year-old boy on a Feb. 8 flight. He allegedly called the baby a racial slur as well when telling the baby to be quiet. His attorney, Marcia Shein, of Decatur, G.A., said Hundley will plead not guilty.

If convicted, Hundley could face up to a year in prison.
Jessica Bennett, 33, told FBI agents that their flight was preparing to land in Atlanta when her son started to cry due to "the altitude change' according to The Huffington Post. That's when Hundley allegedly slapped her song while calling him a racial slur according to FBI special agent Daron Cheney in a sworn statement.
The child suffered a scratch below his right eye, which only caused him to cry louder.
Hundley reportedly complained about the child multiple times as the flight went on, even telling Bennett that he "was too big to sit on her lap" according to The Huffington Post.
"We wish to emphasize that the behavior that has been described is contradictory to our values, embarrassing and does not in any way reflect the patriotic character of the men and women of diverse backgrounds who work tirelessly in our business," Haase said in a press statement.
