Red Bull Will Outpower Mercedes This Year Using The Renault Engine

Red Bull Racing Formula One Team might be better than Mercedes Formula One Team this year. Renault engine is the key to Red Bull's success.

Bob Bell, Renault's chief technical director, believes that they now have the car that matches the engine power of Mercedes- Benz. Bell said that Red Bull manage to outperform the infamous racing team last year.

Bell believes that this is a sign that the engines used by the team have improved a lot. Even though Bob Bell believes that it may take another year before Renault reaches its full potential, planetf1 reported.

He explained that the Austrian-based team still have to close the gap to Mercedes. Bob Bell explained that it is also uncertain if they will be able to completely close the gap against the UK based team.

However, they are positive that in time they are going to close the gap against the famous formula one event. They explained that it may probably not be this winter but certainly by 2018.

"Power units are expected to be an even more significant performance differentiator under the new aero regulations introduce this year," motorsports reported. Red Bull Racing's Team Principal Christian Horner explained that Red Bull is using a brand new engine from Renault.
