Chevrolet Bolt EV Roll Out Could Trigger The Boom Of The Electric Vehicle Market

The Chevrolet Bolt EV hitting the market could be a game-changer in the transportation industry. Although the Fiat 500e came first, it looks like the Bolt EV will have more of an impact.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV and the future of transportation. The Bolt EV is an appealing vehicle to the buying public because of the fact that for an all-electric vehicle, it actually has quite the range and retails at an affordable price. It technically has the footprint of a sub-compact and the interior of a standard car.

The Bolt has a range of 238 miles on a single charge. This number is quite impressive for sub-compact which makes a lot of people wonder how its battery is able to hold in that much power. In addition, the EV is priced at just around US$30,000 with the US$7,500 tax credit already accounted for.

At the moment, the only EVs that has more or less the same range as Chevy's Bolt EV are Tesla's. Unfortunately, Tesla EVs aren't as affordable with the cheapest coming in at a whopping at around US$70,000.

The combination of a high mile range and the inexpensive price is what draws the buying public towards the Bolt EV. It definitely leaves a stronger impression than a hybrid which was supposed to introduce the possibility of electric cars slowly to the market. Others are drawn towards its environmentally-friendly appeal while some to the huge tax credit that comes along when purchasing one. Overall, electric vehicles have the potential to go mainstream.

So as long as the EPA pushes for tougher emissions rule, the popularity and importance of the Chevrolet Bolt EV will not wane. In fact, car manufacturers producing hybrids and regular combustion engine vehicles may soon produce all-electric vehicles instead.

Currently, there are nine states that have adopted Zero Emission Vehicle regulations. The only solution to the impending worldwide adoption of these regulations is the production of more EVs.
