2018 BMW M760Li xDrive: A Notoriously Fast Luxury Full-Size Sedan

As BMW celebrates its 30 years of the V12 engines, the German automaker has returned to the V12 models with its flagship 2018 BMW M760Li xDrive. This long-wheelbase sedan packs a punch that can get you from point A to point B in style and luxury while burning rubber.

According to AutoExpress UK, The M in M760Li xDrive stands for the new M Performance lineup and this is matched with the 760 because of the 6.6-liter V12 engine under the hood. But really, the report indicates that they too are confused as to why the German automaker is using the 760, and so are we. Meanwhile, the L is for the long-wheelbase configuration, and it for the petrol mode. Lastly, you have the xDrive that denotes a four-wheel drive.

What is most notable with this model is its M badge. The 2018 BMW M760Li xDrive comes with a TwinPower Turbo lump that generates 610 horses at 5,500rpm with a peak torque of 590 lb-ft, making this luxury vehicle more powerful than a few notable supercars. Its 0-60mps is at a whopping 3.6 seconds. Imagine a car this size, 5,238mm long, weighing 2.2 tons, and that speed.

This officially makes it the fastest 7 series BMW production to date. The 2018 BMW M760Li xDrive benefits from its model-specific gearshift programming for the 8-speed automatic transmission as well as its special tuning for the vehicle's steering and chassis control systems.

But could a full-size sedan this heavy and powerful be good with corners, too? MotorTrend reports that despite its size and speed, it relatively has plenty of grips. The 2018 BMW M760Li xDrive is able to latch onto every single curve and bend. However, you get to wonder whether anyone would actually drive a full-size sedan on the tracks?

Like all other BMW 7 series models, the 2018 BMW M760Li xDrive does remind you that it is still a luxury vehicle. Its seats are bathed in Nappa leather, which is soft to the touch yet firm for the body. Also, it comes with the gesture control for adjusting the volume, switching radio stations, and answering a phone call similar to other 7 series models. A wireless charger is situated at the center of the cockpit for smartphones.

The 2018 BMW M760Li xDrive is an aggressively fast luxury vehicle. It will arrive this summer with BMW aiming to present this full-size sedan to be all things to all buyers, but mostly the rich.
