First Look! Lykan Hypersport Car Shines Bright In Red By The Desert

The first Lykan Hypersport car was made famous when it was driven by Paul Walker and Vin Diesel through buildings in Abu Dhabi in the movie Fast 7. Sharing the same facade, the model had been spotted swerving through the deserts of Dubai in luminescent red. What are the specs exactly?

The Drive. The only information publicly announced about the Lykan Hypersport was its $3.4 million price tag. However, professional driver Oliver James Webb took the vehicle for a spin through the mountain passage of UAE. Luckily, Jebel Jais took a snapshot of the powerful and luxurious car.

The Specs. The car runs on a 3.7-L twin-turbo flat-six engine which had been sourced from RUF, reported Jalopnik. It could also generate 750hp and could go from 0-60 in just 2.8secs. As per driver, the vehicle was spectacular and housed one of the most powerful engines he had driven. In fact, CEO of W Motors, the makers of the franchise, went to Ras Al Khaimah previously to test the vehicle at full speed and shared the same praises for the Lykan Hypersport.

Upcoming Events. As reported by Car Scoops, the model would partake in the season finale of The Grand Tour in Amazon Prime this week. Other models that will join the lineup in Dubai are the McLaren P1 GTR and the Veneno Roadster. The episode would showcase Clarkson and May driving their BMW i3 and Golf GTI through France. The highlight, however, was lodged at the hypercars racing to the finish with an off-road sport category.

The hypercar world had been evolving since several brands have announced their futuristic hybrid models. However, like the Lykan Hypersport, they have earned their popularity not only because they were featured in one of the top-grossing films of all time, but because their powertrain had impressed professional drivers such as Webb. Will the model reign supreme in Dubai this week?
