iPad Pro 2 Could Kill The iPad Air 3 Before Its Even Released

Apple has a big year ahead with new gadgets and devices set for release. The most anticipated device from the Cupertino-based tech giant is probably its iPad Pro 2, sparking speculations that it could possibly kill its cousin, the iPad Air 3 before it is even released.

Apple's iPad Pro 2 and iPad Air 3 releases. A report from Macworld UK claims that Apple is planning to launch the Pro 2 in March of this year. The original Pro 9.7-inch variant was unveiled during an event in March of last year. As for the Air 3, the tech giant has been mum about its release date.

The first iPad Pro came in two sizes, one at 12.9 inches and another at 9.7 inches. The former's size is similar to the iPad Air 2 but with higher performance specs.

The tech giant is considering making changes to the iPad Air line of tablets to distinguish it from other iPad tablets. However, Apple has been working hard to put in more powerful specs into smaller devices such as the much anticipated Pro 2 which could eventually render the iPad Air a redundant product. If this does happen, it could very well mean the end of the iPad Air line of tablets.

A report based off of information from Apple's supply chain claim that the launch of tech giant's other iPad models has been delayed as they are still in the design phase. Their release dates are speculated to be during the second half of this year.

According to MacRumors, another possible cause of the delay in the iPad Air 3's release aside from the new iPad models still stuck in the design phase is the new processor involved. The new A10X processor has allegedly run into challenges during production with its yield rates being much lower than expected.
