The 2017 Nissan Sentra is known to be one of the safest cars in America, running alongside that of Acura's ILX. These two cars did well in various crash tests conducted by agencies but there is a reason why both are very similar. Nissan's Sentra and Acura's ILX definitely needs more improvements in other aspects other than safety.
The IIHS gives the 2017 Nissan Sentra good crash-test scores. However, the full-on safety features are only made available on its expensive models. There is nothing to worry much though because its new Technology package includes forward-collision warnings with automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise controls according to The Car Connection.
This is definitely a good thing for the Sentra as it makes its buyers and owners feel secured knowing that the car is safe. It also good that while inside, they would feel at ease for being well-protected.
In other aspects, the Sentra comes with power features, Bluetooth with audio streaming, and automatic headlights. The Nissan Connect with navigation and Mobile Apps are also available in SL and optional for both SV and SR. It has larger apps capabilities and larger 5.8-touchscreen.
While the interiors of 2017 Nissan Sentra are considered stylish, it did not fare well with its rivals because of its narrow body pales. It even only had a rating of four out of a possible 10 by the reliable site. The cabin is reported to be less stylish than its sheet metal. The mix of matte and metallic are also considered forced for trying its best to look more upscale.
As added by CNET, the 2017 Nissan Sentra looks sportier with its Turbo and manual transmission. This should at least get the attention of car enthusiasts. The SR Turbo gets a turbo-charged engine which is borrowed from Juke. The 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder makes 188 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque.
The 2017 Nissan Sentra may not be the primary choice in terms of sedans. With many options available, it may even not even be part of the choices, or at least last on the list. However, Nissan also deserves credit for having it updated which makes it at least on par with some of the other sedans in the same price range.
