In the NAIAS, the contenders were evaluated based on their EPA-estimated mile range in a single charge. The Chevy's 238 miles per charge was the highest among all cars included in the competition. It can go from 0-60 miles per hour in just 6.5 seconds, a feat for a vehicle that runs purely on electric. This earned it big points and these helped it win the title in the NAIAS, according to Fox2.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV was also named Motor Trend Car of the Year, another accolade that most cars are aiming for. What made it stand out among other cars is the fact that it is simply a car of world-class quality. Winning Car of the Year Award from Motor Trend implies that it met all the qualifications that include advancement of design, engineering excellence, efficiency, safety, value and performance of intended function, according to Motor Trend.

Another major award that the Chevrolet Bolt EV received was the Green Car of the Year Award. One reason why people hesitate to buy an electric vehicle is that they worry about mileage.
