Google joins the fray of companies working on smartwatches. The company's own smartwatch, Android Wear 2.0 will be out for public in February.

Google ventured into the field of smartwatches with their own smartwatch called Android Wear. The smartwatch launched on March 18, 2014, that tracks calls and notifications, as well as fitness goals and much more. According to the latest reports, Google will finally release a new update for the software in February.

The update is supposed to be scheduled for release in the latter part of 2016 but due to certain circumstances, the update got delayed to February 2017. The reason for the delay is that Mountain View worked on the issues that arose during the production of the developer build. While some people will think that delay is a bad thing, this could be Google's chance to sort out and fix all remaining issues for the smartwatch. Earlier, Google informed the developers that applications not compatible with the smartwatch will not appear on Google Play Store. In order for the apps to show up again, an update needs to be performed.

Google also announced that the update for the Android Wear will be released alongside the announcement for two own-branded smartwatches that will be using the software.Unlike the Pixel or Nexus, the smartwatches will not hold Google's name. These will be considered as flagship devices for the company in the smartwatch industry. They'll be launching with the Android Wear 2.0 already installed in them.

There is still no news on when the exact date for the update will be released but rest assured, it will be soon.
