Recently, a spy shot of Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera that appears to be in development shows a number of prototypes featuring some modifications. This is expected to revive the name Superleggera which means super light. This lightweight supercar has a large aggressive front splitter, fixed rear wing, and track focused aerodynamic package. To complement a more stiff suspension tune, there will be a boost upgrade of the wheels, tires, and brake components. This Superleggera will also add up the Huracan model count to five and may be the last of its type.

The new basis for the 2018 Huracan Superleggera is that it won't have the Huracan LP610-4's wheel drive system as simple and lighter rear-drive as LP580-2 that was introduced last year. As for its platform, Superleggera will have the same mid-engine as the LP580-2 with its mass reduced by the carbon fiber in the body and equipment list.

As the company focuses on its high performance in cruising with style, the supercar is expected not to spawn a spyder variant. Optional equipment and a short list of the standard will also help trim the weight to a minimum.

The rear-drive LP580-2 with 5.2 liter V-10 was detuned to 573 horsepower, it is expected that the Superleggera model will go in the opposite direction with more muscles compared to the standard and a 602 horsepower with seven-speed dual clutch automatic. It is also assumed to compete with Ford's GT, Ferrari's 488GTB, McLaren 675LT, and Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Though there has been no official statement from Lamborghini, it is expected to exceed both Huracan Coupe and Spyder. It will also have a limited number of productions. The Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera is expected to arrive and make its first appearance in 2017 with an estimated price of $300,000 that will differentiate Huracan and the $400,000 Aventador.
