2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA Debuts Aggressive Yellow Black Look At Detroit Auto Show

As expected, Mercedes presented the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA at the Detroit Auto Show. It was in 2013 when this generation of the GLA was introduced and now the new Mercedes-Benz GLA 220 4Matic engine with 184 HP has been updated with a restyling. The first units are expected to hit the market in April.

Mercedes-Benz has been working hard in the SUV segment nowadays. They had produced seven SUV Models in just a few years from the smallest 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA to the biggest Mercedes-Benz GLS. And this time, the GLA was unveiled at Detroit with aesthetical changes plus some small mechanical touches that will improve performance and efficiency, according to USAtoday.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA draws attention to its new front bumper, new headlights and taillights. Add up a new color palette in yellow and black, new tires and more chrome details complete the appearance. The previous bi-xenon headlights have given way to LED lights that consume 60 percent less than previous xenon. The rear optics also rely on the LED, in this case, they come in multilevel functions that offer three intensities: maximum brightness during the day, average level at night and a lower level when it is in neutral (with the objective of not blinding other drivers).

On the inside, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA presents an atmosphere that everyone is familiar with. The elements are maintained, but the technology has been improved. Among the new equipments include new 360-degree cameras which are a novelty in the segment since this system was only made available on superior models. It also improves the quality of the central touch screen which is more than 8 inches and is compatible with Apple carplay and MirrorLink.

In the mechanical part, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA still has the same structure and the same motors. However, the latter has been modified not only to deliver more power but to reduce consumption and improve its performance. The range will now consist of five versions of petrol and three versions of diesel. The powers will range between 109hp and 381hp, according to TopGear.

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA will once again have the corresponding performance version prepared by the AMG Sports branch. The 2017 Mercedes AMG GLA45 engine will continue to provide the most powerful four- cylinder in the world, which in this case will increase their figure to 381 horses. In this case, it will always be associated with the total 4MATIC traction.

The first units of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA are expected to hit the market in April. Meanwhile, check its presentation at the Detroit Auto Show in the video below.
