The development of the 2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe continues. Since the middle of last summer, we have closely followed the development of the new luxury SUV in which the guys of Land Rover have been working on. This time, spy photos of it doing winter testing in Nothern Sweden emerges online. This new luxury SUV is set to rival the BMW X6 and the Mercedes GLE Coupé, among others.

Though the car may be covered with dense camouflage, engineers of the British firm took advantage of the extreme cold, snow and ice season to put both mechanics and electronics to the test and check if the vehicle can withstand extreme driving conditions. This is the ideal environment to know where the boundaries are for the future 2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe, according to AutoEvolution.

Unlike the Range Rover Evoque Coupé, the 2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe will have a five-door body. Even the access to the rear seats was changed and was slightly reduced to suit the coupe style of this SUV. 

The 2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe will have a more extended rear window and a lower overall height. This, combined with a higher profile, allows the new luxury SUV of Land Rover to offer a more elegant, sporty and dynamic image - a modern vehicle that will flow well with the city and will not fear the rural environments or the mountain. 

As for the interior of the new 2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe, it is better not to expect big changes. It will be in line with the Range Rover Sport and the most important changes will focus on the rear. At the technological and equipment level, it will benefit from the Land Rover's latest developments such as the InControl Touch information and entertainment system, according to CarScoops.

And what about the range of engines? It will also be in line with the model from which this new SUV coupe emanates. There will be engines Ingenium six and eight cylinder and will have diesel and gasoline options. And as expected, the top - end version will come under the label "SVR" and comes with a V8 5.0 - liter engine. The possibility of introducing a 2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe plug-in hybrid variant is also strong although nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

The 2018 Range Rover Sport Coupe will hit the market late next year 2017. For now, it is unknown when it will be presented although the Geneva Motor Show or the Frankfurt Motor Show may be the ideal scenarios for its long deployment.
